LightShift 2002: The Alchemy of Synergy  The Divine Science of Astrology has the unique ability to journey beyond the perceptible character of nature and matter, and illuminate the heart, soul and essence of consciousness. While other knowledge systems excel at measuring the physical body of the universe, astrology accesses the vast domain of Spirit, or God. In this Aquarian period, which I have dubbed "The True Age of Consciousness," astrology is a fundamental tool for understanding the complexly intersecting vectors and matrices of matter, time, space, incarnation, and personal destiny. It is a compass for navigating our ship of Self through the rapids of life to set bearings on where we are and the direction we are heading. We've now cracked the human genetic code and stand at the very threshold of ending all disease. Yet in the wrong hands, this same technology could terminate all human life. Athletes continue to shatter world records and raise the bar on human potential, yet are increasingly found using performance enhancing drugs. Tremendous prosperity permeates the lives of more and more people, yet thousands starve everyday or live homeless in our streets. We have all the resources for living in peace and harmony on Earth, yet violence and war are still considered viable options for conflict resolution. We live in a transitional time of dichotomy, where the miraculous and the miserable are evolving simultaneously side by side. Technologies are advancing, increasing, growing and spreading at logarithmic rates -- where 65% of America will be connected to the internet by the end of the year. Yet this same miraculous cyberspace technology which can mobilize the planet for peace, is also increasingly polluted with violence, twisted pornography, and abuse. Satellites transmit the wondrous technology of television from space, yet the content is essentially negative and shallow, when it could be empowering and enriching. We've now discovered life on Mars, scores of planets where intelligent life could exist, and a new physics where Einstein's speed limit of light may be far surpassed -- opening up such possibilities as time travel. Yet on our own planet, we have polluted our warmed and darkened skies, eviscerated our rain forests, poisoned our sacred waters, and enslaved ourselves in a bottomless pit of technological addiction. Fortunately, a spiritual revolution has caught fire in the hearts of many who are evolving to understand the code of our souls, the mystery of our origins, and unleash the true potentials of body, mind, and spirit. The Aquarian conspiracy thrives ahead blending ancient and new modalities into better ways of living. Our beautiful children's powerful will to live seems to be the driving subconscious force keeping our Earth boat afloat. Will we survive ourselves and allow future generations the freedom to live this miracle of life on Earth? Let's peel down another layer and take a deeper look at our present year. Pythagoras once said, "all truth lies in numbers." What a unique and special number sequence this second year of the 3rd Millennium creates. While numerologically 2002 is a 4-year, it also carries the resonance of the two, with its two 2's separated by two zeroes. Four represents structure and foundation, the base of the pyramid which when connected to its zenith point, unleashes its radiant charge. The prominent two's signify partnership and synergy, where the marriage of win/win relationship creates a whole far greater and grander than its simple arithmetic sum. 2002 is also year 4700 on the Chinese Calendar, Year of the Horse, which also calculates as an 11/2. The dynamic horse has two sets of two legs, providing the powerful foundation from which it gallops. Synergy, as coined by futurist Buckminster Fuller means "synthesis plus energy," precisely what 2002 is about. Synergy is a natural magic of universal law inherent in our infinitely abundant and compassionate universe. Anytime we connect in a synergistic relationship, we wield a mighty alchemical tool for healing ourselves, each other, and Mother Earth. The beginning of this year also marks 11 years minus 11 days to the end date of the Mayan Calendar -- December 21, 2012 -- which also forms an 11/2 numerology. 2002 is thus a critical crossroads for responding to the challenge posed by the prophecy of this 13th and final Mayan "Baktun" encoded in temple stone. Much of the world of the past seems well on its way to passing away, as one world dies while another is being born. What crashes in ashes, and what rises from the remains will create the foundation of the world of the future on more solid and sacred ground. For example, we are in a transition between a world powered by polluting and disappearing fossil fuels and one driven by renewable and clean solar/hydrogen technologies. If the transition is smooth, our children will be driving silent cars whose only exhaust is purified water. Then again, there are volumes of literature and many who feel this end date also marks an actual end time. Yet in the language of the Tzolkin -- the sacred round and harmonic module holding the infinite permutations of the universal principles of Hunab Ku, the creator -- number 13 is the Maya's highest heaven, where every ending births a new beginning. And this is the key. Our fate has not been written or sealed. We create our future every moment. At this 11th hour in Earth history, a new dawn breaks on our inner horizon, as the hope of healing the past and creating Heaven on Earth radiates in the promise of the emergent 21st Century Goddess within us all. Surely as civilization's charge continues to tighten its stranglehold on Mother Earth, and the quality of life deteriorates, the jury is out on our ability to shift our polarity in a sustainable and renewable direction. The 1983 film of Hopi prophecy, Koyaanisqatsi -- "life out of balance" -- depicted a time-lapse warning of civilization carrying itself away to its own extinction. So this 11-year portal presents perhaps the biggest challenge humankind has ever faced. Can the emerging energy of the eternal feminine balance out thousands of years of male dominance and birth and empower a bright and sustainable future? Goddess only knows! This year of crossroads is charged with the challenge of integrating the very essence of the two-frequency into a balance which sustains the unified whole. Inherent in the code of the two frequency are the success formulas for this positive pole shift: Cooperation, synergy, communication, compassion, harmony, community, peace, and love. Appropriately, Saturn, representing time and structure, will spend the entire year in Gemini, dualistic sign of the twins. We will learn how to weave and integrate the vast polarities and dimensions of ourselves and each other to the next level on the evolutionary spiral. With Saturn making trines to Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, we will experiment with and create new formulas, strategies, and structures from the cauldron of our creation. Jupiter, King of planets, which entered nurturing Moon-ruled Cancer in the middle of last year, continues to spend the first half of 2002 in Cancer. Here, the Divine Mother energy, transmitted through the Goddess will gracefully empower the higher nature of the collective consciousness with loving-kindness, balance, and healing. In August, Jupiter moves into warm Leo, ruler of the Heart, for the second half of 2002. Jupiter will expand, integrate, and celebrate both masculine and feminine aspects of ourselves as the Goddess emerges in full glory for the greater good. In the Hawaiian tradition there is a problem solving process for "making right the wrongs," called Ho'opono Pono. In exercising our compassion, it is fundamental that we forgive the past so we may walk forward in clear light with fresh resolve. May we join in this visualization exercise of the ancient tradition: In your mind's eye, visualize concentric circles of the Universe, the solar system and the Earth. "In the circle of love are the ancestors. I dwell in the moment, and my moments are pono (correct). I am so grateful for all the blessings that surround me. In this circle of love, it is now understood that I am of this love." As the Sun sets each evening may we release the past, and when it rises in the morning, let us passionately greet the dawn with new born love and fresh light. If we dig a little deeper and shine a little brighter than we ever have before, we can only succeed. May we enter the threshold of this crossroads year with fresh hope, deep compassion, juicy passion, and clear resolve that through the beauty, power, and grace of our love, we will not only survive, but thrive on this magnificent planet forever into eternity.
